Today was an especially exciting day for me. As an aspiring marine biologist, I love spending time by the ocean and observing the creatures that inhabit it. Today, we were lucky enough to be able to go on a whale and puffin watching tour in the small coastal village of Húsavík in Iceland. Although the past few days have been rainy and cloudy, we were lucky enough to have a sunny and clear sky for the majority of our tour. We visited "Puffin Island" where puffins from all around the world come to feed and breed, then we continued into the bay to witness humpback whales and dolphins breaching the waters surfaces. It was a magical experience for me and I was very happy to have gotten a picture of a puffin that you can actually see (all my others have been blurry or too far away). In total it was about a 4 hour trip, but it was well worth the wait. Here are some pictures.
